1999
The second edition
of Expedição Mata Atlântica took place on the Southern Coast of
the State of São Paulo, Brazil between the villages of Iporanga
and Cananéia. EMA´99 consisted of five days and five nights of pure
adventure racing. The distance travelled by competitors was approximately
450 km inside preserved and dense Tropical Atlantic rainforest.
The teams competed in the following disciplines: orienteering, trekking,
mountain biking, canoeing, rappeling, caving and water water tubing.
