EMA 1999 - ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT

- Upon the act of enrollment the teams had to present a Social-Environmental Project to be implemented in the regions surrounding the environmental reserve parks. This project, in the form of a text, had to present suggestions for self-sustainable development, the recuperation or revitalization of the areas and/or communities in the proximity of the forest reserve parks.

All of the teams which participated in EMA '99 had to:
- Committed themselves to volunteer in fieldwork that occured on a given date prior to the race start, implemented in the region involved.
One or more of the works presented were selected by the organization together with the Forestry Institute. The aim of this project was to improve the living conditions of the communities that occupy regions of environmental interest.
